Ukrainian visa
28.07.05 Visa
news
KIEV (AFP) - Canadian citizens will be able to travel to Ukraine
without visas from August 1, officials announced.
President Viktor Yushchenko signed an order Thursday abolishing visa
requirements for Canadian nationals who come to the ex-Soviet nation for
less than 90 days, his press service said in a statement.
Ukraine's new authorities have already dropped visa requirements
for nationals of the European Union, Japan, Switzerland and the
United States.
Canada has a large Ukrainian diaspora.
30.06.05 Visa news
MFA news. On 30 June 2005, President of Ukraine Victor Yuschenko signed
the Decree on the Establishment of Visa-Free Regime for Citizens of the
United States of America, which introduced visa-free regime of entry to
Ukraine and transit through it territory for U.S. citizens who may stay
in Ukraine up to 90 days with at least six month intervals between
visits.
07.04.05 Visa news
It
seems that Ukraine is going to become visa free also for citizens of the
USA. Though the dates are not clear yet.
06.04.05 Visa news
Congratulations to all
EU people.
According to the Decree of the President the visa-free procedure of
entrance into Ukraine for citizens of EU and Swiss Confederation will work
from May, 1 till September, 1, 2005. It is introduced, among other, for
maintenance the appropriate preparation and organization of song festival
“Eurovision-2005” in Ukraine.
09.03.05 Visa news
It was announced that from the end of March EU citizens will not
require a visa to enter Ukraine. But the date has not been officially
confirmed yet. We advise you to check the latest updates of the situation
before you come to Ukraine.
Although following recent optimistic changes in Ukrainian government and
strategic policies it is expected that visa regulations will be
considerably simplified and and probably at least for citizens of EU it
will be possible to travel to Ukraine without a visa. However at the
moment a visa is still required for most European countries (except
Poland,
Lithuania,
Hungary).
No visas
are required for citizens of Romania, Mongolia, Serbia and Montenegro, and
the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (except
Turkmenistan).
Please
check with a Ukrainian embassy in your country the latest information.
In general you would need to apply for a visa and submit to a Ukrainian
embassy your passport, an application form, and in some cases supporting
documents.
Invitation
letters or any other supporting documents are no longer required for
citizens of the United States, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, and Turkey, or
citizens of the countries of the European Union. We recommend you to apply
well in advance. Often embassies charge a double price for emergency
(quick) processing of the application.
