Strilky is a vilage of Starosambirskyi district, it is located in the Carpathian Mountains on the bank of the Dniester River. Its population is 2375 persons (in 1921 lived approx. 1430 persons). In the southwestern part of the village (near the hamlet Mills) on the left bank of the Dniester is a hill called Zamchysche. In the distant past it was a fortress on the hill.
