Ukrainian Carpathians are one of the best places in East Europe for skiers, both amateurs and experts. There are plenty of places to ski and prices remain low by European standards, both for lift passes and equipment rental. At the same time, there are numerous smaller ski areas in quaint small towns that are still quite untouched by modern civilization.
The most famous Ukrainian ski resorts are:
Dragobrat (the highest resort in Ukraine),
Bukovel (excellent European facilities, expensive resort) and
Slavsko (low prices).
On balance, Ukraine is a perfect country for winter holiday for everyone. Skiers shall be satisfied, gourmands will find their food paradise here, while everyone shall meet some time in the evening on the promenade for an unwinding drink and some dance in local bars and clubs.
* If you plan to go skiing in Ukraine’s Carpathians at about New Year time we strongly advise you to book as early as possible. Accommodation is more expensive then and virtually all the hotels are getting filled up.
