Start place: Lviv, Ukraine: Information about Lviv
The route: about 150 km starting from Myslivka village (Ivano-Frankivsk region) and moving a large part of the way along the old Austro-Hungarian border (challenging all the highest mountains) to Yaremche. See the map.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Starting from Myslivka village we summit Yaiko Ilemske mountain (1679 m) and stay for a night in a hunting hut not far from the mountain ridge.
Day 2: Moving along the ridge to Moloda mountain (1723 m) we descend to the valley of Moloda river and either stay for the night near the river or continue a bit further to Grofa mountain (1748 m).
Day 3: Long day of walking along the Grofa-Popadia ridge that includes a few mountains: Grofa, Parenky (1736 m), Popadia (1740 m). Stay for the night on the descent of the Popadia mountain.
Day 4: Now we move off the beaten trek to the real wild mountains. Following the ridge of the old Austro-Hungarian border we approach the Bushtil mountain (1612 m) where we stay for the night getting some rest before the next difficult day.
Day 5: Be prepared to get a bit tired this day. Walking through alpine pine along the old and not very clear path would be phisically and physchologically demanding. You will be definitely very happy after we descent to the normal forest level at the end of the day.
Day 6: Long walk along the border via Kinec Gorganu mountain (1580 m), we will camp near famous Syvulia mountain (1818 m).
Day 7: Scailing Syvulia we will follow towards Bystrycia village where in the valley we will enjoy plenty of water.
Day 8: We will continue our trip to the beautiful and steep Dovbushanka mountain (1754 m).
Day 9: Happy ending of the trek in Yaremcha town in the evening.
