Approximate departure from Lviv – 7 a.m. Our trip starts early in the morning from Lviv. We have to get to Halych – the old Ukrainian town, which was first mentioned in 898. About 10.00 we will reach the town. You will have an opportunity to watch the ruins of the castle. We will have about an hour of free time to watch the views and explore the surroundings.

There is a version, that the castle was founded in 1144. It is located on the hill right near the town, so that you will watch great views on the infinite plains and the whole Halych.
Our next point is Krylos – the former capital of the Halych-Volyn’ Principality. We will look at the old Cathedral of Assumption and the museum of Ukrainian architecture and rural life (open-air museum).

After sightseeing and feeling the spirit of the antiquity, we will visit the most popular souvenir market in the Ukrainian Carpathians, which is located in Yaremche town. You can also watch the “Probiy” waterfall that appears from the kaskades of the stream rapids. Finally, we will stop for the night in a comfortable cottage in Tatariv village to have a rest before another, full of impressions, day.

Day 3
Tatariv – Zhenetskyi waterfall – basecamp Zaroslyak – Hoverla Mountain (2061 m) – Lviv. Our first sightseeing point for today is Zhenetskyi waterfall in Tatariv village. Water is falling down from the height of 18 m. Local people have called this waterfall “Huk” (“Noisy”) because you can hear the noise yet on the road. This day will be definitely a big one, as our main aim is hiking to the highest mountain of Ukraine – Hoverla Mt.. The route starts from the basecamp “Zaroslyak’. It will take us about three hours to get to the top. The first bottom part of the route up to the foots of the Small Hoverla Mountain is going through the deep old forest.

Then the well-marked path is going up along the steep slopes. This part of the route is the most difficult. That is why you should be quite careful. When we get to the top of Mala Hoverla Mt, we will watch a great view on the whole Chornogora ridge (the highest ridge in Ukraine), Hoverla Mountain and the part of the route, left to the peak.
