Petros Mountain is one of the several summits of the highest range in Ukraine – the Chornohora (Chornogora). It is 2020 m high and located at the fourth place among the highest mountains of Ukraine. As Petros Mt. is the first western peak of the ridge, you can watch the marvelous views on the whole Chornohora.
Before taking this tour, you have to be aware of the difficulty level. You have to be enough prepared to the cold nights in the winter mountains, steep snowy or icy slopes, nasty weather. Basic mountain and special climbing equipment is required.

Itinerary:
Day 1.
Departure from Lviv at 21.48 to Kolomyya and arrival to the strart point in the mountains at 11 a.m. and staying overnight at a Basecamp “Kazmejchuk” (today’s route length about 10 km.)
Day 2.
Lazeschchyna village – basecamp Kozmeshchyk
Arrival to Kolomyya at 6.30 early in the morning and having the train to our start point – Lazeshchyna village at 8.00. Arrival to Lazeschyna at 11.15. Starting the gradual ascent ( 10 km) by the dirt road to the basecamp Kozmeschyk. That is four wooden huts (former Austrian forest district) with bunk beds. The huts are heated with stove ( WC is outside). After reaching the basecamp, we need to check all equipment and prepare for the next day.

Day 3.
Basecamp Kozmeshchyk – Startcamp on the pasture Skopeska
Today we have to get from the basecamp to a startcamp – the shepherds hut, which is located on the height of 1520 m. Than we have to check again the equipment, have some training. You should have
a good rest as the next day we are supposed to climb Petros Mt. (2020 m).

Day 4.
Valley Skopeska – Petros Mountain – Basecamp Kozmeshchyk
Early start to reach the Petros peak and have enough time to enjoy the winter views on the whole Carpathians. Then we start the descent to our basecamp to have a rest after the intensive day.
Distance to walk: 10 km.
Overfall of the height: 1600 m.

Day 5.
Basecamp Kozmeshchyk – Lazeshchyna village
We continue the descent back to the village. We have a train to Ivano-Frankivsk at 16.40. Arriving to Ivano-Frankivsk at 20.45, we have to take an overnight train to Lviv – the finish point of our trip – at 00. 19. Arriving to Lviv at 7.41.

SPECIAL OPTION
We can also climb the highest mountain in Ukraine – Hoverla – 2061 m but it will take us two extra days. This option has to be previously planned by the group before the trek starts.
The tour price is 1850 UAH per person, includes:
- transportation from Lviv to the Carpathians and back by train;
